A Tamagotchi based on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise!
The first thing you might notice about this release is that it retains the original Japanese packaging and programming. This is the first for a release that’s been brought over to the USA. English instructions can be found over on Bandai’s website.
When you start up the toy, you’ll see a little scene play out and you’ll be presented with a generic, low-ranking character that will grow into a character from the franchise depending on how it’s cared for.
There are three different games available, which is an increase from some of the previous Nano models. There’s a timing game about slicing a rock, one about powering up your character to break a gourd, and one about pouring medicated water. None of these are too hard, but the variety is always nice to have.
Releases where you’re raising human or human-like characters have always felt a little odd, and that seems to be exacerbated by the Nano. The sprites are large in order to keep the characters recognizable, but that means there’s barely any room for animation when it comes to the character you're raising. That part was a little disappointing. That being said, the games and reports are nice looking.
This isn’t a bad release, but it’s definitely going to have the most appeal to people who are already fans of Demon Slayer. It lacks the wider appeal of some of the other Nano releases.
