The Hello Kitty Tamagotchi! The theme of this Tamagotchi is probably clear based on name alone. It's adorable, packed with charm, and is nicely animated considering the size. It's a more Vanilla experience compared with some of the other crossover Tamagotchi Nanos that have recently come out, but I think the sheer cuteness helps make up for it.
It's a normal, simplified Nano experience this time around. Feeding your Tamagotchi will show Kitty delivering your chosen food or snack. You'll be feeding your Tamagotchi some of Kitty's favorite foods- apple pie and milk!
There are two games to play here. The first is a game of timing where you press the button that corresponds to falling musical notes. The other involves helping Kitty use balloons to fly to the end of a course while collecting other balloons and avoiding crows that fly in your path. Neither are particularly difficult, but they're both pretty fun.
Occasionally Joey the mouse will run across the screen and dirty up the area. You need to clean it up or your Tamagotchi will get sick.
When your egg first hatches, it has the chance to be one of two babies, each of which grows into a different set of adults after 24 hours. If you continue to take good care of your pet and play lots of games, you may also unlock secret character forms with bow similar to Kitty's!
These are incredibly cute and nice to play with. The "end-game" falls into the same issue as other Nanos that follow this pattern, however. After reaching its final form, your Tamagotchi will stick around as long as you don't leave it sick for too long or rack up too many care misses. The Nano is meant to be more of a relatively low-maintenance accessory than a full Tamagotchi, which is fine. Sometimes it's nice to play with something simple. The problem is that the lack of interactivity doesn't mesh well with the long lifespan. It does tend to get a little boring after a while. I did enjoy the ending sequences in this release, though. In conclusion, it's a charming and laid-back release. It's inexpensive and not hard to find, but not as exciting as some of the other recent releases.
